Participation at the I.C.E. Integration- City-Exchange in Graz

Congress on Intregration and Intercultural dialogue. "Integration of people with foreign citizenship” and "Intercultural dialogue” are challenging issues for all European countries. Due to differing circumstances in member states one can find diverse perceptions and approaches. For a detailed definition of multiple measures local organisations and protagonists, either from public administration as well as from Non-Governmental-Organisations respectively the cooperation between those, are needed.

By selecting comparable European cities we created a forum of dialogue across borders that utilised the already existing networks (for instance the registered twin cities of Graz) and expanded them.

Practitioners (both representatives of Governmental-Organisations as of Non-Governmental-Organisations) from the following cities/countries were invited: Graz/Austria, Darmstadt/Germany, Middlesbrough/UK, Ljubljana/Slovenia, Pécs/Hungary, Triest/Italy, Sofia/Bulgaria, Bukarest/Romania, Kosice/Slovakia.

This project was co-financed by the European Integration Funds, the Ministry of Interior Austria, the Government of Styria and the City of Graz.
